It's time for our second LHCO birthday celebration of the week! On January 10, 1865, Mary Ingalls was born. She was the first child of Charles and Caroline Ingalls (Pa and Ma) and would later become Laura Ingalls Wilder's older sister.
I guess I never realized this before, but Mary shared a birthday with her father. What an interesting coincidence.
According to the "Little House" books, when Mary was young, Laura resented her sister's tendency to "be good" without trying. As the girls grew older, however, they became close friends. You can read more about Mary on Wikipedia and Laura Ingalls Wilder, Frontier Girl.
Come back on Monday for one final birthday in this series!
