Sweet potatoes

First order of business in today's post is the countdown:
Ten days until Thanksgiving!

Next, today's food for the Holiday Recipe Bonanza:
Sweet potatoes!
Almost every family has a favorite way to prepare sweet potatoes, especially at holiday meals where they're a traditional staple.

If you like your sweet potatoes whole and simple, the way the Ingalls family likely enjoyed them, here's an easy way to make them. Wrap them in parchment, place them in a large dish, and bake them until they are tender. They will be unbelievably soft and sweet.
Alternatively, for a more decadent dish, here's a recipe for sweet potatoes baked with fruit and walnuts

Finally, for the nerds among us, here's a bit of history about the sweet potatoes we serve at Thanksgiving.

Thanks for reading! Come back soon for more delicious holiday foods.
