"The Great North American Locust Plague"

One of the several YouTube channels I follow regularly is MinuteEarth, whose tagline is "Science and stories about our awesome planet!" I was quite surprised to see a video today titled "The Great North American Locust Plague", which provides a little science and history to explain the locust plague of the late 1800s. In her book On the Banks of Plum Creek, Laura Ingalls Wilder documented how the locusts derailed her family's attempt at farming in Minnesota.
Hope you enjoyed this video! I always like posting things that explain the real-life circumstances behind Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" books. If you liked this blog post, share it!
