Welcome back to LHCO! I hope you had a lovely Easter. Today's the first day of April, which means I have NO excuse to be writing 2012 instead of 2013. How time flies!
Reading through the "Little House" books, it always amazes me how many minor characters there are who are completely lost to history. One example of this is found in Little House in the Big Woods, in a short passage about one of the Ingalls family's neighbors.
My usual Google-fu doesn't reveal much about the Petersons as historical people. This is partly because Peterson is a rather common last name, and partly because Mr. and Mrs. Peterson must not have been very prominent or "noteworthy" in their day. However, I did find one mention of them in a biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I wonder where the biographer got his information. It would be interesting to learn more about the Petersons, why they came to Wisconsin from Sweden, what they did during their lives, and how they related to the Ingalls family.
Do you know anything about this obscure couple mentioned in the "Little House" books? Share in the comments.
