One of the hallmarks of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books is the idea of log cabins or "little houses." I've posted previously about inside Laura's houses and a log cabin-inspired snack, but today I'm going to give you a few links to articles about log cabins themselves.
As usual, the Wikipedia article on log cabins has lots of in-depth information. Scroll past the photo for more.
Both of the following articles are educational materials from the National Park Service's website.
"The Log Cabin Tradition" (the history of log cabins like the ones Laura lived in)
"Log Cabin Politics" (how log cabins affected American presidential elections, among other things)
Hope you enjoyed this post on Little House Club Online.
Sorry the content here has been somewhat lacking in quality lately. I'm on the home stretch at the end of the school year. Freshman year of college has been incredible for me and I can hardly believe it's almost over. All the same, I'm ready for finals to be over and summer to be here.
Do you ever wish you lived in a log cabin? In a simpler time, away from the dubious conveniences of dorm showers and cafeteria food?
