It's the beginning of November, and fall is here to stay. Depending on where you live, winter may even have arrived at your home. The weather right now makes me think of chapter 7 "Indian Warning" in The Long Winter. In this story, an old Indian warns the people of De Smet (including the Ingalls family) of the especially hard winter to come. If it hadn't been for his warning, the whole town might have frozen to death; as it was, they nearly starved before spring arrived. I'm thankful that I live in an area of the country where winters are mild, and a time in history when warm houses and clothes are readily available!
Stay warm, and keep reading!
