Journaling

Although Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" books focus on the experiences of Laura's childhood, Laura never kept a journal. Keeping a journal might have been a good idea because it would give us a picture of her thoughts from day to day.

Can you imagine how much the world will change in your lifetime? Someday, you may want to have a record of the time when people used those old-fashioned cell phones and wore those silly blue jeans. If you want to keep a journal, it's simple to get started.

Find or make a book to write in. For true "Little House" homemade style, staple or sew pages together to make your own unique journal.

Write daily, weekly, or whenever the urge strikes. Don't just write down the events of each day; also record your thoughts and dreams. In a few years, it will be fascinating (and sometimes funny) to reread what you wrote and see how you've changed or stayed the same.

Happy reading - and writing!
Elizabeth
