Ice Cream!

July is National Ice Cream Month, and yesterday was National Ice Cream Day. President Ronald Reagan, who designated these two special times, stated that they should be observed with "appropriate ceremonies and activities."
With that in mind, here's a Laura Ingalls Wilder story celebrating ice cream. Turn to Farmer Boy chapter 18 "Keeping House" for a passage about homemade ice cream in astronomical portions.

If you really want to make the most of National Ice Cream Month, try making your own ice cream. Use either a hand-crank or an electric machine, and try out a new recipe for a delicious summer treat. Enjoy!

Come back Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for more "Little House"-inspired fun!
