Dress-up time!

Check out these photos of some of my family's old-timey clothes.
Above is a pretty lace shirt. I don't know what era this might be from... maybe it's just vintage. In any case, it looks pretty and old-fashioned with a long black skirt.
These are our pioneer dresses, made to fit a girl just about the right age to start enjoying the "Little House" books. They might not be perfectly historically accurate, but they certainly make the wearer feel a little more like Laura and Mary.
Here's a fun vest for a boy who wants to look like Davy Crockett or maybe a cowboy. It's old and therefore delicate, but still super fun.
Finally, our Baby Carrie-sized dress. How cute!

If you want your own pioneer outfit, it's not hard to find a castoff dress at a thrift store or make your own at home. Dressing up makes acting out Little House stories or cooking pioneer foods twice as fun!

LHCO updates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with posts about Laura Ingalls Wilder, her books, and related fun activities. Check back often, and please let me know what you think!
