Miniature dioramas, oh so cute!

Looking for an adorable and simple craft? Look no further - I have just the thing for you! With a tiny box, a craft knife, and an assortment of papers and embellishments, you can illustrate your favorite Little House in three miniature dimensions.
To begin, find a small box. We bought ours at the local craft store. I like the ones we found because they're just the right size - about the size of a business card - and because they have a removable lid. Any small box will do, though.

Next, cut a hole in the lid using a craft knife. Kids will need parental supervision and help on this step.

Now you need to decide what the scene inside will be, and how you'll construct it. We used a simple watercolor background for sky and ground, then cut out little houses from brown paper. To embellish, we added cotton-ball clouds, dried plants, and penciled-in details. Get creative!

Finally, put it all together. You are now the proud owner of the world's most adorable mini diorama!

This is a great craft to do with a group of friends for a few reasons. First, the materials are tiny, so you will probably end up with too much of almost everything. Second, the materials are so simple and variable that you can end up with a lot of variety among even a few dioramas. The possibilities are endless! These display great on a windowsill or mantelpiece, as a reminder in your own home of Laura's little houses.

Check back Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for more fun posts on LHCO. Thanks for reading!
