You might think of homemade vinegar as the exclusive domain of hippies. Maybe you've heard of the brand below and its cult following many fans... However, apple cider vinegar is also well known to hardcore "Little House" fans. It is possible to make your own vinegar at home, which reportedly has better flavor and . Although I haven't tried making some yet, you can find instructions in Barbara M. Walker's Little House Cookbook. If I remember correctly, this is a great way to put apple cores to use.
