Grandpa and Grandma

Yesterday was Grandparents Day, and in honor of the occasion I'm blogging today about Laura Ingalls Wilder's paternal grandparents.

Charles Ingalls's (Pa's) parents were Lansford Whiting Ingalls (1812-1896) and Laura Louise Colby Ingalls (1810-1883). During the events of the "Little House" books, they lived in the Big Woods of Wisconsin within wagon-driving distance of Laura's family. For more historical background information about Lansford and Laura Ingalls, check out the links above. To read more about Grandpa and Grandma as Laura recalled them, turn to Little House in the Big Woods chapter seven "The Sugar Snow" and chapter eight "Dance at Grandpa's."

Thank you for reading my Little House-inspired blog. Feedback is always welcome, and enthusiastic fans are even more welcome!
