Scavenger hunt!

Today I have an activity for you to do. In a traditional scavenger hunt, you have to look around in a designated area (maybe a backyard or a neighborhood) for a list of items. But in this scavenger hunt, you'll stay inside out of the August heat and look for items in the Little House books.

The rules for this contest are simple: Find a reference to each of the items below in any of the original nine Little House books. (I have a list of solutions, but there are multiple possible answers.) I'll post the answers on Monday, but until then, comment on this post with your solutions. Whoever gets the most correct wins ...fame and glory! Don't worry if you don't find all of them - the idea is to spend time reading and exploring the Little House books. Enjoy!

3. A pocketbook
4. Shoes that were too small
5. Canned peaches
6. A rag rug
7. Bangs
8. A sleigh ride
9. A noteworthy kitchen and pantry
